Upcoming Adventures

May 9, 2021 22 Comments

It’s been a long time since quilters have been able to travel together, but the future is looking brighter and I have a couple of exciting trips planned. I decided it was time to let you in on what’s happening and maybe you’ll consider joining me, so we’ll have something to look forward to together.

Our Sew We Go cruise of the European Christmas Markets didn’t happen last year, but fortunately it wasn’t cancelled – only postponed.

We are thrilled to be able to look forward to cruising the Rhine this coming December from Basal to Amsterdam

aboard the AmaMora.

At this point the ship is “full”, with many cabins being left unoccupied because of the pandemic. If any of these open up, we will be able to take more travelers with us. We currently have a waiting list. If you’d like to be added to it please click here for all the information.

I look back on my January 2020 trip to Japan as one of the most amazing places I’ve ever visited (and I’ve been to some wonderful locations 😊!) My next Pieceful Travels trip is scheduled for August 11-22, 2022 and I can’t wait to tell you all about it!

I’ll be leading a tour to Wales and England with a visit to the largest quilt show in Europe!

This Textile Tour of Wales is a perfect combination of quilts, woolens, and culture, culminating with the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham, Europe’s largest quilting event. Here are a few of the wonderful sites we’ll be visiting:

Other textile-based stops are Calico Kate Quilt Shop, Red Apple Yarn Shop, and Garthenor Organic, whose many products include Snowdonia Sock yarn. The Forge Mill Needle Museum illustrates how significant the needle and fishing tackle industries were, as 90 percent of the world’s needles were once made in Wales.

Impressive cultural attractions such as ancient castles, William Shakespeare’s birthplace, and the changing of the guard at Windsor further enrich your textile journey.

And those are just some of the wonderful things we’ll see. I’ll be putting the full itinerary up on my website soon, along with the nitty gritty details. If you think you might be interested in joining me on this once in a lifetime adventure, email me at: and I’ll add you to my list.

Kris, please put me down as being VERY INTERESTED in the Wales trip. Have never traveled to Europe, but do have my passport ready to be stamped!!! Is it possible to have a single room? I snore terribly and would not want to inflict that on anyone else.

I’m interested in the Wales trip. I was born in Neath, South Wales. I recommend visiting Cardiff Castle. The Cotswolds are wonderful. I bought Wool hexagon quilt at an antique shop there. Can’t wait to get the details.

Chris, I am interested. My grandfather on my fathers side came from Wales.
I had a friend who went to this quilt show many years ago and I have always wanted to go,the side trip to Wales is a bonus.

I have not been on any of your trips but would LOVE to go to Wales and the cruise.
My mother came to America from Wales and it would be great to see the country and
fabrics and quilts. Linda Lacko and I are friends and I miss her since they went to
Florida. Don’t know if she is going with you but that would truly be “ice cream on the cake”. We really missed you coming up to Eagle River when the virus was so active last year.
